Protective and Therapeutic Potential of a Novel Phytobiological Formulation of Nutrients in the Treatment of Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulcer

Gastric ulcers have been considered as a major problem worldwide. This study investigated the protective synergistic effect of novel nutrient formulation for protection and treatment indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer in rat model. 24, 8 w old male rats with body weight between 220 240 g, were divided into four groups used this study. Group 1 consists healthy controls group 2 ulcerative animals, 3 ulcerative+phytobiological (80 mg/kg) 4 omeprazole (40 mg/kg). Pre-treatment 80 mg/kg phytobiological improved activities measured antioxidant enzymes, decreased lipid peroxidation inflammation, evidenced by surface glandular epithelium (white arrows) treated stained hematoxylin eosin tumor necrosis factor alpha immuno-expression when compared group. In conclusion, mechanism which prevents indomethacininduced may be mediated via improving homeostasis enzymatic (superoxide dismutase) nonenzymatic (glutathione) antioxidants, inhibiting (malondialdehyde) decreasing formation inflammatory cytokines (tumor alpha, C-reactive protein content interleukin-10). Consequently, beneficial therapy patients diagnosed ulceration.
